NOU POU NOU - Bachelor Thesis

To finalise my study I wrote my Bachelor thesis for the Belgian aid organisation "Viv Timoun". The NGO "Viv Timoun" attends several Projects in Haiti, inter alia the Project "Nou Pou Nou" for which I developed the corporate design and designed the website.

The organisation "Viv Timoun" was founded by Alice Smeets after the intense earthquake in 2010. The Project "Nou Pou Nou" which means "We for us" focuses on the local people. Not like many other organisations the prerequisite of the work of the Projects managed by "Viv Timoun" is the intense work together with the local people.

One of the long term problems which occurred after the earthquake were that the Haitian population lost their believe in themselves and in their country. The high number of NGOs and their misconduct to not work with the Haitian government and the local people led to the dependency on the organisations of the local people. This misconduct led to the problem that the Haitian lost the faith in themselves, their abilities and their country.

Main objective of the project "Nou Pou Nou" is to bring back the faith and self confidence to the Haitians. To achieve the objective the project promotes Haitian projects which are accomplished by Haitians without help of foreign organisations, to show the whole Haitian population that they can achieve something on their own. The stories about these projects are promoted troughout Haiti and all over the world. They are published in Haitian newspapers, radio, television and the internet.

The task for my Bachelor thesis was to develop and design a corporate design for the project "Nou Pou Nou" so that the project can publish the stories in serveral media with a uniform appearance. Furthermore, a website was designed to publish the collected stories, news, photographs and videos online.
